I like the little interplay that just went on between Tux and the insectoid. It brings us back again to the slavery thing and demonstrates the different ways the characters have adapted to their servitude. It sets me to wondering if there will be some sort of plot hinge embedded there, for instance does the insectoid not really want his freedom? Will he end up betraying Tux because he actually supports the institution of slavery or something like that?

19 is an interesting case. As I see him, he's totally bought into the idea of being a slave. He not a fanatic about it, but he does believe that this is his proper station and this colors the way he sees the world.
